Origin/History

Jester® is a registered trade mark of Charles Faram & Co Ltd and is from the Charles Faram Hop Development Programme.

Jester® is a seedling of Cascade (itself a cross between Fuggle and a Russian variety)
It was planted 2009 along with its sister Olicana® and was originally selected on aroma.
It was commercially released in 2013.

Agronomics

Jester® has small leaves.
The variety has good wilt resistance (en par with Cascade & Target)
It is Downy Mildew tolerant and Powdery Mildew susceptible but is tolerant like Sovereign.

Jester’s field characteristics are driven by temperature as it likes it warm in the Spring.
